Upgrade Your Qualifications for 2020

Prior to the 2020 season is a great time to upgrade your qualifications! You will add to your existing skills and can use them in Round 1!

 

If you are a current Level 4 or Level 3 referee you can do this at our upcoming courses to be held at Harie Denning Football Centre, Bates Drive, Kareela. These courses are held by SSFRA instructors and our aim is to help you get your new qualification. If you are not sure of your current qualification please contact branchcoach@ssfra.org.au.  

 

LEVEL 3 COURSE (for current Level 4 referees)

 

WHO SHOULD DO THIS COURSE?

 

Any Level 4 Referee who wants to learn more about the Laws of the Game and how to practically apply them to refereeing.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS COURSE?

 

To undertake this training program you must be at least 16 years of age and hold a current Level 4 referee qualification.

 

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

 

This program is aimed at match officials officiating in junior to lower divisions of adult football and builds on your Level 4 knowledge specifically around:

 

  • Foul identification

  • Match management

  • Offside interpretation

  • Positioning

  • Assistant Referee development

 

ABOUT THE COURSE

 

The course consists of 6-8 hours of classroom-based training including Laws of the Game examinations (written responses, multiple choice and video incidents).

 

There is then a practical assessment during the season to finalise your new qualification (1 as a referee and 1 as an assistant referee).

 

The cost for this course is $60.00 but as a current member of SSFRA you only need to pay $30.00

LEVEL 2 THEORY COURSE (for current Level 3 referees)

 

WHO SHOULD DO THIS COURSE?

 

Any Level 3 Referee who wants to learn more about the Laws of the Game and how to practically apply them to refereeing.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS COURSE?

 

To undertake this training program you must be at least 18 years of age and hold a current Level 3 referee qualification

.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

 

This training programs provides the theoretical education for referees who aspire to officiate in matches ranging from junior football to the penultimate senior football in their State, Territory or region. You will gain new knowledge and enhance existing knowledge across a range of topics including:

 

  • Foul identification - FIFA Considerations

  • Foul identification - Simulation, DOGSO and SPA

  • Effective game management

  • Offside - advanced interpretation

  • Positioning - zones

 

ABOUT THE COURSE

 

The course consists of 6-8 hours of classroom-based training including Laws of the Game examinations (written responses, multiple choice and video incidents).

 

Once the Theory component is completed you may choose to undertake the remaining components to gain the 'full' qualification as a Level 2 Referee.  These are undertaken over the course of at least one full season.

 

These components include practical assessments on senior matches as an assistant referee and referee (a minimum of one match each) as well as creation of a Program Folder which is reviewed by your Member Federation.

 

This folder is then used as part of gaining the Level 1 Referee qualification.

 

Please note that Units 1 and 2 of this training program are to be completed as 'home study' prior to your attendance at the course.

 

The cost for this course is $100.00 but as a current member of SSFRA you only need to pay $50.00
