Next course - 1 May 2023 - Footballing Experience Needed
Perhaps you're considering taking up refereeing, but with all your footballing experience don't really want to do a 2 hour online course and an 4 hour practical course (not to speak down the value of that course, just that it is not likely to be ideal for those who already have spent lots of time involved in the game).
Realising the understanding of the game experienced members of the football community have, the SSFRA is running a shortened referee course that recognises this, and is only two hours to complete. No pre-work, no exams ā just the two hour course on the night, and some mentoring after the course on the field. The aim is to get you on the field as soon as we can!
The course is available only to individuals aged over 18, with footballing experience.
Course Information and how to register:
The course will be held on Monday 1 May from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at a venue to be confirmed
To take up this opportunity, email recruitment@ssfra.org.au with an expression of interest, and save the date.
Register early as spots are limited!
The cost of the course is $200 (which includes base uniform and all course/rego costs), but referees who complete this course will receive a $100 refund bonus after refereeing their 10th Weekend in 2023.
You must also get a NSW Working With Children Check done
You will require a paid check. Your number must start with WWC and end in āEā. FNSW policy requires this as referees are paid even though the NSW government does not. This can be obtained from: https://wwccheck.ocg.nsw.gov.au/Apply If you already have a current WWC āEā number from another role, you can skip this step.
