Mission
Working with FNSW, we have developed an action plan to help us build a great culture for girls and women refereeing.
Our goals include:

Building a strong community of female referees within the Shire

Growing the number of female referees within the Shire

Increasing the visibility of females refereeing in the Shire

Supporting our female referees to achieve their refereeing goals through established pathways

Ensure the SSFRA aligns with national female refereeing initiatives and frameworks

There's lots going on amongst our community of female referees, including:
Female Football Week Events

Female Football Week is a nationally recognised celebration of female football which recognises the girls and women involved in our game in all capacities. We host a range of events tailored for female referees and support facilitate over 400 female football matches across the Shire during the week.
Female Buddy Program

Female referees are paired with senior referees as they start or return, making sure they are well supported and connected as they begin their refereeing journey.
Uniform Equity

At SSFRA we have a female cut shirts and shorts on offer as part of the uniform pack received on registration.
Girls who Ref Community

On the branch communication platform, Spond, we have a designated group for the women and girls of SSFRA where we showcase and celebrate each others achievements throughout the season. From debuts to honorary appointments, such as State Cup and Champion of Champions finals, as well as representation at location, state, and national events.
